2025 Friends of IHES “Cinema & Mathematics” Gala

Friends of IHES is delighted to announce the 2025 Friends of IHES Gala, schedule on October 28 at the famous Plaza Hotel in New York City.

A highlight of the Friends of IHES Calendar, this year’s gala, themed “Cinema & Mathematics”, will celebrate the unexpected harmony between art and science.

Join us for an extraordinary evening, emceed by World of Science Festival co-founders Brian Greene and Tracy Day, and featuring a keynote address by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Kip Thorne, renowned for his role as scientific consultant and executive producer of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, as well as an inspiring conversation between Matthew Brown, director of The Man Who Knew Infinity, the acclaimed biopic on Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, and Fields medalist Hugo Duminil-Copin, exploring the rich intersection of cinema and mathematics.

Held under the high patronage of Mr. Laurent Bili, Ambassador of France to the United States, and Mr. Cédrik Fouriscot, Consul General of France in New York, this unforgettable night will include:
